It Our Time Carolina Rebels Volume 4 Lindsay Paige Books
It's our Time was another successful book in the Carolina Rebels series by Lindsay Paige. It was aptly named with a second chance theme.Ian Rhett was an NHL player whose been in love with the Sydney Jarvis since he was a teenager. They were best friends, lived in different cities, and were sometimes lovers. He’s always wanted more. Sydney was always in love with Ian but kept him at a distance, not willing to have a relationship with him other than a sexual one. She was hurt by him when she was younger and she promised to never let herself get in a position to be hurt again; which meant she was keeping some monumental secrets from him. The storyline focused on their relationship, exposing all secrets for transparency, and moving towards a future.
I'm a huge fan of second chances and enjoyed Paige's creativity by providing something outside of a traditional second chance plot. With that said, I struggled with connecting to some of this storyline. Sydney's reasoning for not being together previously and keeping her secrets, didn't make sense to me. It just wasn't very plausible and I couldn't relate to her, especially with her epic childish silent treatments. And then the accusations of Sydney's mom, that was ludicrous. Totally not a fan of the parents.
On the flip side, I loved Ian and almost everything about him. I also loved that Hockey was an integral part of the storyline and Paige didn't just fluff over it. It also was a way to include a strong cast of supporting characters, some from previous books while also introducing others for future books.
All in all, it was a fairly quick and enjoyable read. Throughout the storyline, Paige set the stage for several upcoming books that have promise for a great storyline, such as Zane or EJ. Additionally, Logan will have his story in Steady, a new spin off series, Hearts in Carolina. Until then, next up is Attached to You.

It Our Time Carolina Rebels Volume 4 Lindsay Paige Books Reviews
I recommend that you read Us At First before jumping into It's Our Time. I don't think that you will like the characters as much if you don't read the beginning of their story. I totally fell in love with Ian in Us At First and my feelings did not change in this book. I wanted to slap him a few times but I still love him. I like Sydney a little bit less in this book but I definitely do not hate her. Stop reading if you have not read Us At First--there are SPOILERS!
Ian and Sydney ended on a horrible note when she graduated high school. I understand the stress that they each had trying to have a non-relationship in high school and college. They were way too far apart and it would not have worked out. When Sydney tried to contact Ian with her secret and did not receive a response from him, she basically wrote him off. Then a couple of year later, he showed back up and she realized that he never got her messages. She decided she could not tell him now and only had a physical relationship with him. Ian can't figure out why Sydney refuses to be more than a friend with benefits, using the word friend loosely. He is finally at a point in his life where they can have a relationship but he does keep a secret from her too.
Once they each find out what the other is hiding, the world tilts for them both. Ian pretty much forgives Sydney almost immediately and tries to make up for not being in her life for a couple of years. Sydney can't seem to let go of what happened in the past. That is one of the biggest reasons I could not like her in this book. I tried to sympathize with her but I couldn't. I was totally on Ian's side on the fights.
I really liked this book. I read it fairly quickly and really enjoy this series. I am giving this book 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Wonderful story and great characters. Lindsay does such an awesome job weaving the series together. Must read for hockey lovers!
Oh how I loved their story. Ian and Sydney are amazing characters, They are the perfect combination of all that is good in a couple. They fight and they love. The story is full of ups and downs, it really keeps you engaged the whole time.
This story is so relevant, it has such a a sense of reality that makes it that much easier to believe and fall in love with them.
Okay, I went right into this one after reading Us At First, which is about Ian & Sydney's start as teenagers. I really liked Sydney in that one. This one... not so much. She bugged me. I ADORED Ian & Savannah & Logan & Z & EJ & oh my heck, when do Z & EJ get books, because *swoon*! It was great, as always, to see the couples from the first books & get updates. *grin*
I really enjoyed the story - despite my annoyance w/ Sydney, though! Wonderfully written with funny & teary moments, both. This is definitely one of my favorite series!! )
Lindsay Paige has become one of my favorite author's. Instead of repeating the book description, I am going to just tell you why I love this book. Ian and Sydney's story is one of overcoming past mistakes. The author wrote their story with the perfect balance of love, laughter, hockey, and drama. The characters along with their emotions feel real. I truly enjoyed this book and could not put it down. The author weaves past characters in the story catching us up on those characters current life events. I recommend starting with the first book in this series just because its such a great series. I also hope Ms. Paige continues to write books in this series!
